Stider SMF hard use testing

Knowing his torture tests I wasn't expecting the Strider to fare that well. Even though the ti deformed, on this strider it's so thick it didn't matter. I think for the people that buy striders, raw ti appeals to them. But i would love to see the ol' hardened steel lock-bar insert added. I've never experienced slippage with any of mine. And it seems like it would solve all of the returns they get for lock rock. Incredible heat treat/geometry/tip on that blade though!

I'm glad to know I can buy a strider to make wood chips...

I think I'll just stick to buying them from Home Depot...

I think it is kinda cool to see that a knife can take abuse like that.....even though I think it is excessive. There are some other brands I'd love to see go through that test.

He's done many other knives, you can see them here, so far the best performer he's ever tested is the ZT 0550, it pretty much got through the test without so much as a scratch.

Good to see what I already know!!

I always felt that if there was going to be a knife in my pocket 24/7 it should be able to do just about anything I need or want to do.

Great video. I saw this a while back before I owned a strider. Definitely good to see it stand up to hard use. There are similar videos with some Russians testing a Spyderco Military and another one, same guys, testin a para 2. They destroy the blades. But not after a long while of total pounding on them.

I would be curious to see how a Seb held up to the same test.

Give it a go with your small and post a video!

Those tests can't be correct, I see that a Cold Steel folder only received 55%! They have the strongest lock on the market! :D Just joking, not looking to upset anyone.
The ZT 0550 and newer generations are sweet knives, the Gen2 replaced the SnG in my regaulr EDC rotation.

Cold Steels have the strongest lock on the market, too bad they don't have blades to match (maybe they do now since moving their line to CTS-XHP). On the Spartan test the entire belly of the knife literally warped.

I had my strider in my hand watching this, and I just looked down at my SMF going "Holy Hera, you can take that kind of abuse?" I'm glad I'll likely never have to test it, but if I ever needed that kind of strength it's there

Nice video! My SMF is going with me on outdoors & fishing trip to Georgia. It's so utilitarian.
