Stiff blade on new leatherman

Hey guys. I just picked up a leatherman sidekick today and I love it. Thinking about giving it a try as my new edc. This is my first leatherman so I may be asking a dumb question here but when I first took it out of the box I could easily open the blade with my thumb. After tinkering with it for a while the blade became extremely hard to open and I have to use two hands. I've been trying to work it loose again but I'm just wondering if this is normal or if something is wrong with it. Apologies if this is a dumb question. Haha. Thanks for the info.

replied in the other thread, try cleaning, water as hot as you can stand, and then some lube. But it might just be something in the pivot, I'd contact LM and have them give it a spa treatment.

Same thing happened to my Surge. I went through the drill, but with no success. It seemed to be a mechanical issue I couldn't figure out, so it went to Leatherman for a fix, which took care of it. I still don't know what it was that made the blade bind up, but never had that problem with any other Leatherman.
