Stiff KISS

I have a Stiff KISS, which I intend to wear clipped to the inside pocket of my jacket, with the knife handle down. The knife is "stiff" in more than one way - it is very hard to disengage from the plastic sheath. Any good ideas on how to make it come loose a bit easier...?

You could try to tighten down the screw in the handle that keeps it in the sheath, or you could try to polish/sand the kydex a bit on the inside of the sheath to make it not grip as tight.

i have one,and another on the way.
just keep drawing it from the sheath,do this SEVERAL times till it loosens up.you could also try to blow some hot air on it with a blow drier,i think that would work,but be careful,you might wind up doing more harm than good.

That's funny...both of mine were always too loose for my taste - when worn as neck knives during semi-physical work they would occassionally dislodge and fall out from under my shirt onto the ground. This is definitely NOT FUNNY when it happens in front of your boss. They're better suited as no-frills spare knives in the car, around the house, with the camping gear, etc.

when u draw the knife, use your thumb to push against the kydex sheath, that's the easiest and smoothest way to get the knife out.
i have a kiss and the neck peck and just tugging on the handle doesn't work well because u have to put a lot of force into it and whatever it's clipped or tied to rebounds when it pops out.
the thumb method, after u pracitce it, also makes no noise at all.

One method I've tried myself was to disengage the knife past the knob, but not completely, then to use a rubber band to hold it in place, just like a pair of suspenders on my pants (I always wear suspenders). When I rip the knife out in a hurry, the rubber band will lose its grip of the knife, or be destroyed.

I go the idea from "Combat Use of the Double-Edged Fighting Knife" by Col. Rex Applegate. An interesting book by the way
