Suggest some good ones, under 100 bucks (since I wouldn't use them for much), 4-4.5 inch blades. The Ti Lite is the only one I can think of offhand. Not super traditional though.

I've considered getting the A.G. Russell Frame-Lock Spear Point several times, and I hear that it is quite a nice user.

Hmmmm not quite what I'm looking for...

I want something as close as possible to the classic picklock switchblade, preferably with the same bayonet-style blade grind and nice rounded handle (many AO copies I have seen are cheap junk with a completely rectangular profile)

Strange no one makes an AO just like the auto version... it's one of the most famous knife patterns ever.

It's one of the most famous knife patterns ever because it's an automatic. It's actually a poor EDC option due to the thin blade, fragile tip, and shallow grind. Kissing Crane makes some manual versions.

thin blade, fragile tip

This in itself should lend to a good slicing EDC. Yes, the shallow grind in the "Bayonet" style grind doesn't help but there are still many out there that have full height flat grinds. I have an example of this and it works wonderfully.

I should not have said thin. Narrow was the word I was looking for.

DarkOps StratoFighter Stiletto ?

You fool, you fool! :D

Seriously, I've been corresponding with one of the guys about the precursor of that Dark Ops -- the Extrema Ratio Nemesis. Naturally, I had to haul out my Nemesis (and its brother the MPC) and I've been playing with them. A little over the original poster's price point. But lots of fun. If it doesn't slice all that well, it sure can smash to make up for it!

The Benchmade 530 has a blade shape that is similar to stilettos. However, it doesn't fit in your blade length criteria.

Here's one that you might light. The Cold Steel Counter Point 1 that was just recently shipped. It's got a 4 inch blade also.
