Legalities aside, what's the opinion of you forumite(s) regardng these type(s) of knives? I LOVE'em! Having been an 11Bravo ( infantryman ) such
style knive were invaluable for self protecton, and were often indeed use(d) to that end. I currently own
the Spyderco Tim Zowada C56 PE, SOG Pentagon Elite ;), and at least 3
manual stilettoes ( I disdain autos ) and have plan(s) for the SOG "mini" Pentagon, and what ever else tickles this ol' grunt's fancy;)
How do you forumite(s) feel?

Happy Thanksgiving!( from this ol' "dog face" ;))

AET ;)

I hope to get a Hammond Conqueror too (and a Mad Dog Shrike for good luck) :)

Ever since I got James Keating's Reverse Grip Knife Fighting video, I've become a BIG fan of double-edged knives...particularly daggers...

I own a lot of them from my younger days. I'm real partial to double-edged daggers (particularly with serpentine, kriss style, blades). I've got a skinny little stilleto that really tickles my fancy. But I did some experiments in years gone by that convinced me that a broader single-edged blade with a lot of belly was a lot more practical for self defense. For stabbing it made a bigger wound and was likelier to cut stringy arteries and tendon. For slashing it was remarkably more effective. I generally wouldn't take a dagger into the field with me. On the other hand I've got an old Gerber Mk-I boot knife with a belt clip that gets grabbed as a convenience now and then.
