I haven't been around much, but I've been a busy SOB. Long story short -- I "quit" my job about a month or so ago, but they offered me part-time (took my salary and made it into an hourly wage) so I really couldn't turn it down. Anyway -- today is my last day of work here. Been working for this company since I was 22 (7 years) and it is definitely strange to leave. After today I am officially a full-time knife maker. Not sure where it will go, but I'm still fairly young and don't have any kids. I don't want to look back and say I didn't try -- and I was really tired of the corporate life. Too much backstabbing and BS!

Wish me luck!

Good luck to you Mr. Burch! I know what you feel like leaving a job after so long. I worked my last job for 8 years, then left to my present job. Feels almost like leaving home. I couldn't have been happier though...I wish the same for you. -Matt-

Good luck Michael

If I can make it doing a few knives here and there just to survive, You should do just fine being able to put the time in on knives. Best of luck

Michael,

Go for broke.......... You will never know until you try. I waited too late in life to take the plunge, however, you, as a young man, still have lots of time to get it right.

If I can be of any help, shoot me an email.

P.S. You make some nice stuff.

Best to ya,

Robert

Follow your dreams, brother.

Thank you all! The only problem with the shop is that I don't get to spend much time roaming the forums. :D
