I`m still around, it`s pouring rain, so my plans did not work out. The plan was to borrow my brother`s 1979 Harley Sportster for a couple of days, and just get away. With the rain, I was out in the shop working on something very interesting, and fun! I don`t remember seeing anything like it before. Tomorrow I`m doing heat treat.

That kind of sucks.
We had rain the past three days here, today it's all sunny.
We are off to the NJ state fair. Maybe they'll have a freak show, with a 2 butted monkey or something...

That sucks but I can't wait to see what you are making.
You wouldn't want to come to Detroit and weld a fuel tank would you? I'm stuck with a leaking fuel tank and nobody can fix it until monday.

Ah, but I'm sure you remember how it's done. A welder tried today but the diesel fuel fouled the weld and made it leak worse. Now I have to wait until monday so they can pump out the tanks do the repair and pump the fuel back.:grumpy:

I was a welder for 18 years but on jobs such as you describe I often found magic putty was an easier repair...I used to intend the repairs to temporary but often left them and they were fine !!!

Nothing would stick. The diesel simply screwed up everything we tried.
