So I have two Marksmans that I bought new almost two years ago, the tanto is almost perfect except for needing constant pivot tightening. I made a warranty claim for the drop point lock strap screws and tools because I thought I had the wrong sized torx? bit (first gen marksmans didn't come with tools?). So after using a dremel to make a slot in the screw head to remove it, I put the new screws in and got everything lined up for good lockup, go to finish tightening and low and behold the screw head strips again. Felt like I was trying to tighten butter. So after two years of owning a marksman its still a paper weight.

After the Buck Defenders come and tell you how wrong you are do yourself a kindness and buy a Benchmade. Sell your Marksman or throw it in the trash. Could be a good knife, I have one. The lock is weak. But the faulty design is no matter in comparison to the hatred you will encounter in this subforum.

Stephen, not sure what crawled up your azz but this was a unbelievable low blow post that just shows you have no place here. This is one of the most childish things I've seen on the forums.

Wallace is respected on here. His post shows an issue he is having. Not some 1800waaa we've seen before like Stephens post is.

Wallace I guess the pivot needs some loctite, mine did too because the pivot screw worked loose every 6 flicks or so. As far as the screws stripping, I have no idea. If you want I'll ask Buck for some and send them to you. I sure Jeff is willing to help as needed.

If you hate this forum so much, why are you lurking in the shadows waiting for a chance to trash Buck or the people that post here??

Why not return the knife to Buck and let them deal with it? They'll fix the problem, and your knife will be wonderful.

As for our colleague Stephen, do you all not recognize that by trashing him and his opinion you're just reinforcing his point of view? Some people just get a kick out of seeing a dozen members getting all horked off over a really smelly bit of bait dangled in front of the pack. You don't have to take the bait. If there's no sport, the sportsmen will just wander off and annoy other people.

The group here in the Buck subforum does have a tendency to be intolerant of any criticism of Buck and Buck knives. This is just the internet. Relax a bit.

I think your post deserves a bunch of points but not the good kind.

This isn't our first rodeo.
