Still love the Cricket

I have been using the little bugger for over a year now. I simply love this little knife. Long gone is the smooth scale, it's now got some nice "character" marks on it. I find myself reaching for it from my shirt pocket more and more lately.

Everyday office tasks without any double looks from the sheeple when reaching for the Cricket. This little backup blade is getting more use than my Hinderer or Sebenza lately. Funny how that happens.

Just wanted to say awesome little knife. Way to go Spyderco!

I've been thinking of picking up a cricket for some time now. Looks like it would make a great back up knife.

Thanks for the insight.

A generous forumite at spyderco.com sent my girlfriend a pink SE cricket several years ago. her mother borrowed it one time and ended up wanting one herself. she wanted a zytel one so i found a black SE on ebay for her. she carries it every day, everywhere she can and some places she can't. she forgot about it one time and managed to get it on a plane, rather than risk losing it on the return trip i kept it, sharpened it up for her, and she picked it up on her next visit. she missed it while i had it :)

I love my Crickets!! I have 2 that I keep around for general box and letter opening. The reverse-S shape of the blade is really utilitarian and make short work of box opening. I like the lighter weight of the FRN version and they are getting harder to find.

I just picked up my first one and intended to use it for a money clip. The only problem is that I reach for it so much (instead of my other folder I carry) I constantly have to take the money in and out of the clip. I think I will just use the money for another cricket instead of carrying it around!

I love all my knives, but I'd replace the cricket the same day if I ever lost it. I'd kill for one in H1.

My brother, who is decidedly NOT a knife enthusiast, bought a Cricket years ago and promptly broke the tip off it while working on one of his audio engineer/electrician gigs.

I found it buried in a tool drawer on a recent visit and carried it with me the whole week I was there. Ended up loving it, which surprised me b/c it's fully serrated and has a liner lock -- two features that I avoid.

He said i could have it, so I told him to keep it in a safe place for me and I'll use it as my EDC when visiting him, since you can't take knives on planes. :D

The Cricket is one of those knives I want to like but just can't get into. The blade shape just doesn't work for me in practice. Maybe it'd be different with a serrated one instead of plain edge...

The cricket was my first spyderco probably still my favorite i have the VG-10 reg. stainless handles its the best back up blade ever they should but out one in yellow volcanoe grip and H1 steel
