Still Lusting for a Kerambit

In my last thread on this subject someone mentioned that members can sometimes get together and make some sort of order or request for a special item such as this to be made. I really want one as well. I'll be willing to buy two if we can get them made. :)

You guys need to communicate to each other what your vision is, and then put it down on paper. Write Yangdu, let her have a look and see if she can arrange it.

She is open to special projects and has hired new kamis.

When I e-mailed Yangdu, she said she would put me on the list. That was a while ago, but her response indicated to me that there was a list to be put on. You've got to be patient with HI right now. Kumar just returned to work. They are hiring new kamis I've heard too. Hi isn't an assembly line. These knives are made by hand and then shipped over an ocean. Be patient. Kermabit time is coming. Trust Yangdu.

Patience will pay off....always does. :D

Hopefully she ordered about 50 of 'em....still might not be enough. :p

With the demand building looks like my collection might go up in value.

If dan put a finger ring on the Dankura.....

I just mailed one to Steve Ferguson, along with some other khuks. Contact him if you're interested. Not used, but tried to sharpen edge with chakma? and did not a good job and gave up. It is the only kerambit of any mfg. that I have bought and don't plan on buying another.

No thanks. Not that I'm not interested, but I don't want to be one of the mails that will undoubtedly flood Steve's e-mail box now. Also, I think that putting myself on Yangdu's list is a commitment. I want to wait for her shipment to arrive. I want to get an e-mail from her saying it has arrived. I want to pay when I put myself on her lists. I'm looking forward to her simple e-mail saying, "Done Deal. Will ship today." HI is a cause I believe in. I'll wait.

I am with Andy on this one (note to self..e-mail Steve!)

I can wait on one...I want one of those Dankura's (I thought they had a ring?) as well and a BDC and a BAS and a Pen Knife etc:D

Gotta start selling more leather huh?:)

+1 on aproy, email and let her know you want one. I was also told I was "on the list," and I patiently await the happy day.

You mean the ones being offered from HI?? I would like to get one by itself...one with a 3-3 1/2in blade would be sweet as a belt knife

Leatherface, you've gotta get yourself a Kumar Karda, a JKM, and a Sarge Knife. The karda has ~6" blade, and the JKM ~4" and the Sarge ~3. They are three of my favorite HI knives. Period. The small knives that HI sells are top drawyer, and you don't want to miss out on them. Mine are all antler handled, and beautiful. The Sarge is one of the most useful designs I've ever used. Don't miss out. You'll regret if you don't get some of these.

I agree I have several of each and each one is a great knife, though I like the sarge more than the JKM because the guard works well for a small knife when you have large hands. kardas may be one of the best deals going when you look at what you get for the price. The only down side on a Karda may be the sheath I don't care for the metal tips on a sheath for a knife like that but you can find a used leather sheath or have one made.

The dankura is a separate knife altogether, and yes it does have a pinky ring. you can find the dankura threads on the search engine...

Or just make one yourself, a sheath that is. Dangler sheaths are a one nite in front of the TV project.

yea I can make one myself if I need one...:D

Sarge ya say?? hmm havent heard of that one yet...3" sounds just about perfect for a belt knife...Are they a normal production item on HI?? I just checked and didnt see one...Am I missing them??

The Sarge is a skinner designed by Kismet...I think (always remember that my opinion, and knowledge is subject to change by my wife at any time). It's got an almost perfect utility, EDC, blade. Everyone here raves about them. They should. Its a good design. I have two now, and I want more. I should have one in every spot I may even think of needing a knife some day. They used to come in on the DOTD pretty regular, but I don't remember seeing any since Christmas. Get one. Get it now. Don't wait at all. E-mail Yangdu. You need this knife.:D ;)
