Since the older thread went poof with the server problem, I'm reposting this to remind everyone that Rob's knives are still being made and delivered, though just selected models at the moment, Bitter Roots and Urban Ravens. At Blade this year we will be selling the Rob Simonich Commemorative Urban Raven, which is a joint venture by many of Rob's friends and vendors to create a special run (~100) of Urban Ravens that will be specially marked and definitely a limited edition. ALL of the proceeds go straight to Christine.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

The short answer is "yes". The longer answer is that it may take some time. We still have a couple of Rob's current production knives to get up and running first, namely the Raven and the CrowFoot.

Jerry, I hope to be at Blade this year. Do you have any pics/ details on the Commemorative Raven?

It's the Urban Raven, the knife that won Best American Made Knife at the Blade Show last year. S30V steel, 9" OAL, 4-1/2" blade, G-10 handle. These will likely be DLC coated and carry a special mark that will be the symbol of Rob's indian name, Four Star Big Bear. The tentative price will be $200. There will be 100-125 made.

The wonderful thing about these knives is the number of folks who are contributing materials and effort. Crucible chipped in the steel and had it precision ground. The Strider guys are doing a lot of the leg work and assembly. Dennis Rochkes is doing the blade grinding and handle machining. BodyKote is contributing the coating. Christine will be marking them and putting the packages together. ALL the proceeds go to her. I repeat, ALL.

Here's a pic of Rob right after he won the award last year. Think he was proud? :)

I'm glad to see this moving forward. I know when Spark proposed this in
December, every company he approached came aboard without
hesitation; Crucible, Aeroblades, Bos, BodyKote, Camillus, Rochkes,
Tactical Knives and many more all gladly volunteered their time, materials
& resources to do what they could for this project. The selflessness and
eagerness to help Rob's family in their time of need says a lot about
everyone involved.

It's good to see this being put forth to support the widow of such a great
man. I'm glad personal differences have been put aside to see everyone
helping the memory of this friend to so many of us. Rob is missed by all of us, he touched so many across the industry and in the
customer base. I hope the sales go well for years in the future, his memory
will live in his designs.

That's great to hear. I was supposed to on a list but never heard anything about availability. Where and when can I get a Bitterroot? Any plans to do the Crowfoot? Thanks.

You can get a Bitterroot right now by calling Christine. I think BladeArt might have some as well. The Crowfoot will get done once we've gotten the Raven's all worked out, probably later in the year.
