Hey folks,

I got my small regular Seb a few weeks ago and have been carrying it on the weekend. Every night I practice opening and closing it as I've never had a frame lock before and want to get some proficiency with it.
So I sit down this evening, open the knife, and proceed to close it on my middle finger, coming pretty close to slicing off the whole tip.
I took the pics as soon as it happened, it bled pretty good after that. Doesn't hurt much at all, a little dull throbbing is all. Very clean cut, good thing it was so sharp.:D

The only thing that bothers me is that I work with my hands all day and I'm going to keep opening it up and it'll take forever to heal.

Note to self: 100% concentration at ALL times!

Thanks for listening, Steve.:)
Time to drink some beer.

I think I see what the problem is! Your left handed! Just joking, been there done that. If your like me it'll only happen once.

....Bill

Last time I did that, the very tip ended up in the Chili I was making for the family.

:barf:

It always seems to happen to that finger:D Several years ago I did the same with my Microtech UDT. I haven't sliced myself with my Sebbie yet -- luckily:thumbup:

Home Remedy! ....pour two shots of Bourbon, put the finger in one and down the other! .....you'll forget that ever happened!:D

Doesn't hurt at all, unless I poke at it. Not worried about infection. I had just washed my hands before the accident, the knife was clean and it bled pretty good. Didn't even bother with Polysporin, maybe tomorrow.

Thanks for not raggin' on me. :)

Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dang that is gonna smart!!!!!!
Keep it clean and put some triple antibiotic ointment on it.

Ha, been there. At least you were not in a public place. (I cut the whole pad off my pinky at Sportsman's Warehouse. My friend was behind the counter and was showing me knives that would be a good size for my wife. My monster mits were a tad big for these tiny folders. I closed one and handed it back to him and felt a tingle on my pinky finger. There on the counter was the pad of my right pinky. And no more band-aids at the counter (he said they go through them quite quickly there). I was embarassed, and I was working with my hands at a factory at the time.

you could try super glue under the band-aid since there is a flap of skin to glue down.

Well at least your social finger will be more visible for those Interstate salutes until the bandage comes off!

When I received my Seby, the dealer sent me some adhesive bandages :D .
Anyway, is beter to close the knife with both hands .

One time I was making a stir fry, cut the tip off my thumb (just a sliver really), as I was rushing and not concentrating.:o

After a trip to A&E (ER stateside) I came back and cooked the now prepared ingredients and ate dinner. Waste not want not is my motto.:)

Nice cut, I like these kind of pics.

Me and my daughter were watching a zombie-movie, was playing with a knife off course.
This time my Sebbie, I was just closing it when a zombie jumped out of nowhere to attack someone.
Next thing was that I had sliced the very tip of my thumb, all the skinlayers.
It bled like a pig and my girl had a good laugh.

It helps to keep 3 of your finders on the pocket clip. Then they usually won't hang over where the blade can hit them

In normal closing, the blade might touch your thumb nail but not much else.

Cut myself on Thursday, it's now Sunday and I'm pretty much all healed up. The flap of flesh fell off today and the raw flesh on the tip of my finger is insensitive to contact with my thumbnail. Clean cuts heal fast. :)
