Hi Gang- The A.G. Russell/CRKT Sting 3B is out. I love it. It's my favorite variation of this classic boot knife yet.
Can someone post a pic, please.

Here ya go Rolf. This version sure does look a heck of a lot better than the other version.

I just got my A.G. Russell catalog the other day. When I saw the 3B on the cover, I giggled like a schoolgirl. :D I've long had a "thing" for daggers, and this is one of the best looking ones I've seen in a while. Love the look of the sheath too (steel belt/boot clip! finally!). I hope retention is good, etc., as it looks WORLDS better than the one on the original CRKT iteration of the Sting. I'll probably end up with at least two of these babies.:cool:

edit: Lol. Just came across a review while searching for more pics. Sounds like the sheath is the winner I was hoping it'd be.

Once the market is flooded (when it's released to other dealers next year) I'd expect it to sell for about 25-30 dollars.

I might get one and have a BF pimper Red it! :D
You will NOT be disappointed if you get this knife.

Well, dammit! I now have two of these on the way from A.G. :grumpy::D I'll post some impressions (and horrible phone pics!) when they arrive.

I have the old style black coated carbon steel CRKT Sting. Handy size but heavy, everytime i'd pick it up i would think 'this could be a good base for modding project." This new version looks kinda like what i had in mind, lol! I'll buy one of these for sure. Further i would love to see this new version with a more practical single edged blade (FFG) maybe like the blade on a Benchmade 531. A single edge design would make it more everyday practical.

Glad to see they've gone back to a straightforward sheath, instead of all the straps and nonsense that came with the previous CRKT version, which rendered it virtually unusable without buying a new bespoke sheath. I bought one years ago and it's still in the box! The knife looks like it'll be a lot better too.

Wow! Things have changed. I still have my original sting in ivory micarta. I think it was 1977? That CRKT is wicked lookin'.
