Hi, fellas!

This is my most recent work, an utility knife forged from an old file.
Guard and rivets in stainless steel, the handle (scales) are made in american walnut.
Sheath in leather.

OAL: 370 mm, BL: 220 mm, BW: 37 mm, BT: 5 mm.

Thanks for looking!

That is a great knife

really like the old hunting books in the pics

The knife would make a great knife to use while hunting with dogs

I really like the flow of that knife, clean and strong with an honest integrity about it. Just beautiful.

This is not a criticism but just a question: Do you find any discomfort at all from leaving the pin heads standing so proud--in other words, standing high enough to cause irritation to the hand under extensive use? I realize the knife may not see use and is certainly finished to a high enough degree that it could serve as a collector piece, but to me it's such a nice design it would be a shame not to use it.

Hi!

In fact the pins are felt in the hand, if you handle the knife, but not uncomfortably so. I think the "macro photo shots" give the impression that are larger than they are in reality. I really appreciate your comment, this knife was made to use it. IMHO, a knife on the shelf is like a closed book on the shelf!

Big hug!

Ah, I can certainly see how the photos could over-play that aspect. Very nice photos, by the way--very dramatic. Looks to be a wonderful piece.

I really like that knife, it's amazing what you made from a file. I like the proud pins , how do you get the rounded pin ends? I'm just a beginer and so far all of mine are ground flush. Beautiful knife.

Thanks, people.

The pins are made cutting a piece of stainless steel wire, and working the ends first with a sander, then with a polish wheel:
