Here is my latest sheath. It's pouch style with an 8-9 oz body, stingray inlay, and 4-5 oz liner. She's fully dyed and finished with satin sheen inside and out. Let me know what you all think

John,
Thanks for saying so ! Thats a big compliment for me :D. Your comment is a little funny because I finished up last night and left the sheath on the kitchen counter. This morning sleepy eyed I looked at it and thought... Wow folks who know their leatherworkers will spot the Dave Cole influence right away. It's a pleasure to have Dave as a teacher and friend and my leatherwork has improved ten-fold, there's just no replacement for mentoring !! I wouldn't have known where to begin on a sheath this style 6 weeks ago so props to Dave for not only having the knowledge but also having the ability to pass it on in an understandable manner.

Thanks alot for the kind words fellas. It sure is appreciated and it lets me know how I'm doing with design and execution. My leatherworking skill are improving and I finally got a sheath finished with a "proper" amount of leather left around the outside of the stitching so I'm real happy about that :D

I still have some things to pick on here but it's definatly my best so far in terms of both fit and finish, and function. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it and have gained a little valuble experience that will help me out on the next one

Thanks again - Josh

Your sheath looks fantastic Josh! I plan to try an inlay soon, and I may bug you for some tips on how to go about it (and where to get some stingray or other exotic) if that's OK. Also, where did you get the pocket clip? I like that much better than the ones I've gotten from my local Tandy store.

Congrats on the great work!

No problem whatsoever, e-mail any time you'ld like with questions or post here. There are some important steps in doing an inlay that would probably be easiest to discuss on the phone. Feel free to call anytime if you still have my number or e-mail and I'll give it to you again. I gotta get a phone book started myself.

You can get all the exotic your heart desires from the Ostrich Market. I think it ostrichmarket.com but not positive.

Ahhh the mystery of the sweet belt clip.... To the best of my knowledge the clips were manufactured by the William Henry Studios but are no longer being made. Whats out there is out there and thats it ! My mentor happened to still have one which he gave me for this sheath. It's fitting and I didn't feel bad about accepting it as this whole package is a gift for his wife.

Senior leather men correct me if I'm wrong here.

Perhaps e-mails to the original manufacturer could convince them to make some more. Who knows, stranger things have happened.

I really like that one, very well done. :)
