Thanks, Randy! I'm so happy to hear you say that, because that is exactly what I was trying to do! I put a lot of thought into how to mimic reptile scales, and in the end settled on a mule foot stamp to try to accomplish the look I was going for.I love the way the scale tooling pattern mimics the handle scales. Nice work. rtmind/Randy
Both look great, the scale sheath is really nice the edges look great as well from what I see. The stingray looks really nice too. Been wanting to work with that, so your sheath motivates me to do so, thank you for showing us.
Thanks! I have to admit I was a bit intimidated by stingray after reading about people breaking needles, etc. but I really didn't have any trouble. I've got some beaver tail i'll be trying next!!
I think I'm gonna buy some stingray now after seeing this; I've been wanting to do some sheath inlays and wallet backs with it but have read/heard horror stories. And How did you cut the stingray if you don't mind me asking a lot of people have told me they use tin snips? Also both sheaths look fantastic!
Thanks Dave!Great job Amy! Very nice work.
