I think I want to make my own band. I rarely take this watch off so it to be capable of withstanding immersion. I will be stitching the perimeter of the band and using leather cement.

Sounds like a plan CM. Make very sure you give the contact cement time enough to glaze before joining the pieces, and you should be good to go. The stitching will guarantee it stays together and the water sure won't phase the Sting Ray. Good Luck and show it when you've finished.

Sweet Sub Charlie.

Out of curiosity, how come you just don't go with a metal bracelet?

I have the metal bracelet but I like the contrast of a black band.

Just ordered this buckle...

I'm gonna cheat and make my stitching holes by chucking a 1/16" bit in my Dremel.

CM, may I ask where you ordered the buckle from...it be stainless, correct?
I look forward to seeing the finished project, should be very nice looking.

Finished half of the deal... gotta wait on the buckle to do the rest.
