Raw, mofo, she is hurting now!!!!

Serves me right for over extending the limits of my table saw. Rikin' rackin' mofo bit me. Well, I deserved it. I guess.

Nipped a bit off the left hand middle finger. Another shop accident to add to the books. Just kinda reminded me of some earlier posts I saw about grinder bites.

Hey All, be safe, use me as a bad example. Saftey first, cause you can actually see the kerf of the blade cut into my finger nail, well what is left of it.....HeHeHe...Gotta love knife making.

I am just P.O.'ed cuse it tore off my callus from that finger, now how am I supposed to grind? ;)

Jeez, that fluxin sick! :barf:
Yah, what were you cutting, and what kinda blade. Funny what kinda slag you can get yourself into with sharp and or pointy steel moving at high speeds.
Well, pain's a great teacher.

OUCH ! Bet that made your butt pucker.....

I know mine Puckered when I saw it.

Shane

Ouch! I wasnt ready for that! I wish now I would have showed off my hernia cut with the shaved pube hair! We should start a "Show me Your Scar" thread like on the movie "JAWS"

OUCH!!!, remember everything you reach for you will catch that nail on something, its that murphys law thing. But better there then at the wrist :D

I love the fact that most everyone on this forum will go and take a picture of their injuries to post before doing much to fix themselves up. Just another fine example of the selflessness or my fellow makers. :D

Oh, by the way.....Owwwwwww!

HeHeHe....I showed my buddy tonight and he said i should always have a lump of coal "up there" for when things like this happen. I had some serious pucker going on. I was afraid to look at what happened to my finger. I felt her "bounce" off the blade and go numb, then I stuck my thumb over it to stop any "gushing" and it felt like mush. Then I shut the shop down and headed upstairs.

Once I got the soap and water running and took my thumb off the wound, I was thankfull at how "minor" it was. Could have been ten times worse. So needless to say, I won't be ripping any blackwood down to 1/8 thinkness on the table saw in the near furture. I think I will stick to the band saw for that job.

I had to go to my neighbor for a bandaid cause all i have here are some little Barney ones my kid keeps in the drawer. After I got her patched up, it was back to work profiling some new scales.

Live and learn, I guess. But all I know is that table saw won't see much action for a while.... :)

Whenever one of these threads start, I check to see how many cuts I have (notice I did NOT say check to see if I have any cuts :D ), I only have two tonight so I feel for you. I'll bet it hurts like Hell.

Yeow! Man you were lucky! I'm as leary of my table saw as I am of my buffer. I'm glad it wasn't any worse than it is. That will bring you right down to earth in a hurry.

Holy Hardy Holes! Sean, that does look like it did sting a bit. That pic was right on time, too. Almost made me choke on my muffin this morning!

come on Sean you big baby, only one bloody stub? Shoot I regrind my finger tips off every day just to get the day started off right. I never would have throught a dedicated knifemaker like you, would whine over a little thing like that, now get back to work, you slacker. :D

If its not bloody, your not doing it right. :p

Bill

Did the same thing to my thumb twice (stupid) when grinding down stag with 36 grit belts! Took off a huge chunk of thumbnail both times, and the thumb was numb for a week both times...bled like a stuck pig.

Guess everyone of us has tales like this. Glad to see that it was not more serious!

Take Care.

It'll feel better when it stops hurtin'. ;)

I don't know if you realize it or not but you are very, very lucky.

Most tablesaws aren't that forgiving. Believe you me when I tell you, that was a "gentle" reminder.

Craig

Gental reminder indeed! You were very very lucky, becarefull, thouse spinning blades tend to remove body part rather quikly. Bet your heart stopped though didn't it? :p

Ooouch, that's a pain that's gonna linger  That will be a reminder of have quick an accident can happen. Hope it heals quickly for you.
Scott

I think were gonea have to ampltate it :(
man you didn't even get the whole tip.. :p

Cool :D the super man thoughts will leave the mind for a week or so won't it :D
man verses cuters no contest Bro..

soak that thing in hot salt water and get back to work, ohhh yeah it's going to sting,

Bruce I have a scar that I'd show you all on my A$$ but kit will ban me if I do that it's a BAD one.

the scar is too. :footinmou :D

OUCHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Ben known to do things like that myself.Hope it heals soon,Just go ahead and grind that way when it heals up the callous will already be back in place :D
