So I just stripped my pivot screw on my boker folder. I have thread locker on it and I have taken it off once before with that on and it messed up the threads a little. But the second time after I attempted to take it out I stripped the screw and can't get it to budge. How should I get it out? I might try to heat it up to get the thread locker loose but that's all I can think of. ALSO after I do get the screw out I'm not sure if boker has a replacements or not, or if I should get a stronger screw? Any help would be appreciated! I'm so frustrated I did this to a new knife too.

If I were you I'd contact Boker. They might want you to send it to them or they may send you a replacement screw. Personaly ,I have never delt with this manufacturer, but most companies want you to be happy ith their product. Boker is a big company , they know that knife nuts go on forums and talk about how they are treated by companies when a problem arrises. It is their own best interest to make you happy . Hey they build a lot of different knives they want you to buy more.If you do contact them let us know how it worked out.

I contacted them and I'm just waiting for a reply now. I will definitely post how everything works out though. I'm probably going to invest in a bit extractor now too.

They replied pretty quickly! They actually emailed me the day after I asked. They sell bolt kits for $5.00 :) now I just need to get the bolt out.

Heat it up with a hairdryer or something to loosen the loctite. Then try different bits to get the screw out. Not sure what type of screw it is, but I would try other types as well. At this point another type may get a little better grip than the original. Lastly, if you haven't already done so, I would recommend a quality set of screwdrivers or bits. I prefer Wiha, but there are others. A quality set will make life a lot easier. Good luck!

I used to work in an Auto Body Shop. What I used to do with stripped screws was place a rubberband (one of the wider ones) across the stripped screw and then use my screw driver over top of the rubber band. Press super hard down and twist, it worked a good 75% of the time. Other than that we just drilled it out...

= <----Wide rubberband

In theory the rubberband gives to enough traction to loosen the screw out.
