I have been thinking about getting a Tippmann boss stitcher but I am just not sure if it is worth it. It will take years for it to pay for itself but somtimes stitching up my sheaths just gets so darn dull. I sure would like to be able to speed things up a bit.

My question, besides wether or not the boss is a good investment or not is; is there any alternative maybe something a little less expensive?
thanks

I have a boss,
not sure if I will do this move again. It is a lot of money for this machine,
At the beginning everything went super, start to brake some part in it, all parts inside are in Alu., but a excellent service from the company.I still*like it but I know it will break again.
Probbaly for a little bit more of money I will go with an Artisan 3000.

Getting a stitcher of any make should depend on the quantity of work you do and if you intend to sell your product. The Tippmann "Boss" does what it claims to do and what more can you ask? I have one that has given yeoman service with minimum breakage or adjustment. Mine is one of the older cast iron models and is presently used as a back up to my Toro Artisan 3000 stitcher in the event of a breakdown---which I would consider as highly unlikely due to its extremely sturdy construction.

Thanks. I make and sell about 6 knives a month. Sometimes more sometimes less dependng on what I am working on at any given time. Knifemaking is my primary source of income although it not a big income. I keep looking at ways to increase my productivity. Currently I am drilling the holes with my drill press and step stitching by hand this process takes me about 2 hours. For a total of about 3 hours for a simple pouch style sheath. Considering I sell a basic working knives for about $100 the math does not come out good for me.:) Another factor for me is I can buy from weaver at dealer cost through the company my wife works for. They sell the Tippmann boss and some other machines. Still its a big chunk of change. Mostly I was wondering if there was any other company that made anythin simular. If so I have not seen it.

But from the sounds of things I should save my pennies for the toro 3000?

Thanks again
