So I pretty new to Hinderer knifes and I have XM-18 3.5" on the way. I have a ZT0560 already and I love it! So since it was biased on a Hinderer design, a REAL Hinderer can only be better! One of the things I like best about the Hinderer knifes is that you can buy so many parts to customize it yourself. I "pimped" out my ZT, you can see it here:

And I am excited to "pimp" out my REAL Hinderer. I just have one question for you experts. What is the stock spacers, filler tab and lock-bar stabilizers made out of?? I was wondering if they were made of titanium, so that I could send them in to be anodized or I had to buy the titanium gear separately?

Thank you!

Spike.....Congratulations on your first XM!!!
The liner, clip and tab are always titanium.
The screws and standoffs are stainless steel....
RHK offers a great variety of parts in plain, blue or bronze titanium on their site or through their dealer network.
I'm am not sure if you are supposed to be discussing "do it yourself" jobs on here though......perhaps someone smarter than me could clarify......

The answers are easily found in two of the stickies. Post # 2 in RDA's only sticky gives info on materials, etc.

And the official sticky by Rob covering warranty / official stance on pimped knives and fakes...all are at the top of this forum.

Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to break and rules or disrespect Hinderer knifes. I'll have to read a little more before I post. :-/

So I have been reading through the older threads, if you "pimp" your knife out, you void the warrantee but if you use Hinderer made parts, is that considered "pimping" or is that customizing?? :-/ and will that void the warrantee (now my head is spinning!):confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Not all that hard to figure out, if you use Hinderer manufactured parts and accessories or their services, your warranty is intact. Modify your knife yourself (anodize, regrind, remove, grind, pimp, paint, coat, weld, sand, dremel, polish, heat on your stove, etc), have someone else modify or do the aforementioned items or install non-Hinderer made parts, your warranty is in jeopardy.

If you like the size of the 0560, then I would suggest you try the XM-24, and as a bonus, many feel the XM-24 flips better.

Ok, thanks!

My XM-18 3.5" just showed up yesterday, it is perfect! Actually makes my ZT0560 seem a little big and cumbersome. It is actually kinda nice to have both! :-) Maybe I need to start saving for a XM-18 3" as well!

Ahh yes, you have been bitten grasshopper :)

The 3" is a nice addition, I carry one quite often especially this time of year. The 3.5" is my workhorse EDC but several veteran members here EDC the 3" as their workhorse.
Enjoy.
Also, I think you will find that sticking with genuine RHK parts and accessories will not leave you wanting when it comes to variety or quality.
No real need to go outside the family so to speak.

If you want to know how much variety, some geek posted recently about the number of different permutations using genuine RHK parts. ;)

Honestly, one of the most fun parts of Hinderer ownership is looking for the perfect factory parts. It'll be super frustrating at times, but looking for the parts you want is half the fun. A great fellow herd member gave me the first shot at the cf scale my daily Hinderer wears and I'm still on the perpetual lookout for the right clip and filler. Congrats on y'all's first! Enjoy them, scar them up, and share the pictures!
