Today, I received my 2nd Buck Nighthawk knife, and I noticed that this sheath is different from my other one.

They are both black Cordura(?) Nylon, but one has "BUCK" in tan letters that go diagonally down the front of the sheath, while the other sheath has "BUCK" in horizontal white letters (above a tri-angle with "KNIVES" above a patch of red, with what looks like "zebra" mountain-tops).
(They are the SAME sheath in every-other respect.).

Both of these Nighthawks were results of seperate trades from fellow "Forumites"

, both were "NIB", and both are plain-edge, black, clip-point(?).

Why the different sheaths?

Hi Dann, seems like we have some similar tastes in blades! I recently bought a silver bladed MINT Nighthawk from a work buddy for 30 bucks. He bought it about seven years ago and the sheath is similar to the first one you described.

A nice, thick piece of metal it is! I think I'll hang it in the shower to reduce the helpless feeling when I hear strange noises...that's a grippy, nonslip handle for wet shaky hands to comfortably wield.

Now I'm thinking about that custom Kydex sheath... :D

A couple of years ago they updated all of their logos, and so the new logo made it onto their sheaths, site, boxes and everything else
