Check out my latest. A green bone stockkman by Mr. Bill Ruple. About 3 1/2 inches closed. Cool file work. I think Bill has done this before. Most excellent.
(Check out that spey blade, Elliott, might come in handy someday;) )

Thats a beauty Rob. He did a terrific job on the green bone.

I like the file work too, very tastefully done

Me likey! Very nice green bone. Does Bill jig his own stuff?

I love the way the blades lay together. I don't know if I'm the only one who does this, but I really enjoy examining a stockman, turning it over in my hands, and marveling at the craftsmanship of getting all three blades to work together. And I don't own anything that approaches the quality of that Ruple. If I owned a custom stockman I'd probably spend hours just drooling over it.

Great knife Rob!!! Bill makes an excellent stockman.

I really like the simple but elegant file work on yours.

I have a sibling to that 3.5" stockman by Bill as well.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do my Ruple stock knives and sowbellies.

That is nice, also like the subtle and simple filework and the bone is sweet!

Nice one, Rob. I like the idea of fileworking the liners only. It seems counter-intuitive to create cuts that can initiate a crack in a backspring.
Great Knife!!!!!!

Rob,
These guys all said it & I agree
But I'll add, nice job on the pics ,too & Thanks for posting !

Wow!!! I have been using a stockman on a daily basis for the last three months and have come to apprciate just what it takes to make the three blades fit well together. What a perfect looking knife!!

I really enjoy examining the swedges. Notice how one blade will have a drawn swedge on one side and a cut swedge on the other (see sheepsfoot blade above).

That stockman is downright fantastic Rob. And the filework is to just the right degree, not too fancy for real cowboy work. ;)

I agree with the rest of the folks about the subtle filework. I like the fine line on the bolsters. The knife a very clean, angular look to it. The whole knife is simply outstanding!

All good, but I especially love the filework and the very thin line on the bolsters......Also really like Blues arrowhead shield......300

Hi,

Amazingly beautiful! I constantly enjoy seeing the fantastic customs shown here by all the makers.

But this is the first time I have become just flat out envious.:o You are very luck to own such a beauty.

Rob that is a very nice knife. I know that Mr. Ruple likes to thread the bolsters and do filework on many of his creations but this is some of the classiest of his work I have seen. The single thread on the bolsters and the understated file work is top shelf. Just the right amount for a Stockman, a Sunday kind of Stockman. Congrats on a great score.
