Many of you have seen me "ruin" a good knife like this before so you won't be too shocked.
In the past I have just removed blades form my Trappers for this same effect.
Then I tried just shaping the spay blade and leaving it on the knife. This makes for a pretty flimsy long blade but it still works as a steak knife just fine so I may do it again.
The large Stockman shown bugs me in the same way the large trappers do :
For now though I made the following mod and kept the sheeps foot blade in place. I do have some use for that point though I won't be using it hard to cut rope against a cutting board so I won't need a great deal of strength and because the blade is way shorter than a Trapper the blade should be strong enough as is.
One last thing to look at here and that is in the first photo. Note the light glinting on the edge of the large blade. That is where it was colliding with the spine of the sheeps foot blade. I was going to bend the smaller blade to clear the large blade but turns out that in the process of moding it I released some tension in the blade and it moved away from the large blade and easily clears it now; see second photo. So that's good. Originally that was another argument for me to remove the sheeps foot .

This is how I want to grip the knife to pick it up but the back of the unmodded blade was causing my purchase on the knife to be iffy. It's good now.

Here we are with a nice flat area to place two fingers on the bottom side of the knife opposite my thumb.

Cutting with the tip of the sheeps foot blade.
We are talking major finger choil; not that it is needed but couldn't hoit. For index finger or for thumb.

May not look good but sure feels better ! ! ! !
PS : I kept all of the nail nick.

The large Stockman shown bugs me in the same way the large trappers do :
- The back of the sheepsfoot blade sticks way up and gets in the way of the grip for using the main blade.
- The sheeps foot blade sticks way up and gets in the way of getting a good purchase on it to pick it up off a table or counter.
