I need help. I can't decide if I should continue to carry both my stockman and Congress knives or should I pick one or the other. I really like both of them but only want to carry one of them.

...Sounds like a Real Rough Decision
You like em' both, then just switch up each day &
see how that works for you...Best of Both!
-Or, you could post up pics. of both, & get some real
opinions... BTB

Flip a coin. Whichever side you hope it lands on while it's still in mid-air, that's the one you should go with.

If you still couldn't decide, trust the coin flip itself then.

Likely work itself out one way or the other over time. You will either find yourself carrying one more or concede to carrying both.

Alternate between the carry two. Carry the Stockman on Mon, the Congress on Tue, and keep going.

I don't know where you work or what your day is like, but when I can't decide what to carry I'll take two or three to switch throughout the day because I can keep two on the truck or in my bag and one in my pocket

I've always found the point of carrying a stockman or a congress or wharncliffe trapper was that you have multiple blades in one knife. Carrying both a stockman and a congress seems to defeat that purpose. To each his/her own, but what do you need 2 -5 curved blades and 2-5 straight blades throughout the day for?

Carry the Stockman for a month and pay attention about how it works for you and if you are longing for the Congress instead.

Then trade knives and do it again.

At the end of two months you should be able to make a decision.

Does your congress have all straight edge blades? I like the blade shapes on a stockman better. But I usually carry a barlow or canoe on "traditional" days.

What color are they? Match to your pants. Or watch. Or carry the one that's sharp. Let your wife pick.
It's a tough question. No wonder you had to ask us.

This is a really serious dilemma. I have no answer for you and honestly can't understand why you need so many sharp edges with you all the time. My solution... carry a SAK or choose the one that weighs the least.

I've always preferred a congress over a stockman...but you can't go wrong with either.

I’ve never had a Congress pattern so I don’t know how they carry or feel in the hand when being used. I do have enough Stockmans that I could carry a different one every day for about 2 1/2 months before I ran out, so you know where my vote would beo_O

I know this was absolutely zero help to your decision:confused::confused:

I prefer stockman. You still get two shorter useful blades - spey and sheepsfoot - along with a longer clip blade that is better suited for things like cutting fruit or sandwiches than any blade on a congress.
