I am posting this because whoever did this needs to be found! At the end of august I made 3 knives for my dentist, a matched set. They consisted of his wedding cake knife and 2 folders for his 2 best men. The wedding cake knife was stolen from his wedding!! The wedding was held in Rockport, Ma. It had been used by him and his wife to cut the cake and was then was used by a hostess to cut the remainder of the cake for his guests. After that it was not seen again!! This really ticked everyone off.
Here is the description: 9" blade 1-1/4 wide and 3/16 thick made of A-2. 16" overall. Twist front and read damascus bolsters and Apple coral scales. It was supposed to have been engraved with his and his wife's names (Brandon and Eileen). I will post a pic when I get my computer up and running again, the powersource died. Keep your eyes out for it.
Thanks,
Chuck

Sorry to hear about the stolen knife. Stealing knives is bad enough, but stealing knives from a wedding ??!!

If the wedding was catered, Id call the catering company, their employess have a habit of grabbing everything in site when they start cleanup, not for malice, but to get things loaded and in the vans ASAP, so they can get it back to the main shop and cleaned and ready for the next job. Someone may have grabbed it and put it in the silverware, and noe theyre not sure what it is or where it came from. Give them a call and see if they can try to round it up.

Regardless, sorry for the loss, that sucks however it happened -- Charles

I just hope that it is the situation that Charles just outlined. That's really sad though...and I do kind of find it hard to believe that someone would just accidentally pick up a damascus knife with a coral handle.

Striper, I live in Gloucester. If the caterer was local I might know them. If so I would inquire for you.

Luckily it wasn't more than the knife. There are people who show up at weddings just to mingle with the guests and steal stuff. Several purses disappeared at my sister-in-law's wedding on Long Island a few years ago. There are even people who stake out funerals and swipe stuff from the cars of mourners. Just as the animal kingdom has its bottom feeders and parasites, so does our society.

After our reception we were going to save the top of the ckae for our 1st wedding aniversary had it packed up and stuck in the refrgirator, the kitchen staff decided to eat it.................. sheet happens
