Last night while I slept, someone broke into my vehicle and stole a bunch of goodies. I just happened to have left my knapsack containing a brand new Rhino 120 GPS, Grundig shortwave radio, RayBans and ASP Taclite inside it on the seat. Also snatched were the Oakley sunglasses on the dash and a cheap Sony headset radio. Unpleasant to be missing them but all replaceable.

But what really pissed me off was I had forgotten about the kniferoll made by RayE behind the seat. It contained 5 custom folders and my Cachelight prototype. I normally would not have left such stuff in my truck but I had just gotten back from showing my knives to some friends. Here's some pics of the knives that were stolen:

Also taken were but not pictured above were two other medium sized framelock folders. All folders are stamped ATWOOD.

Please, if anybody sees these items on Ebay or in a pawnshop somewhere, please let me know!

I was not the only one hit. Several neighbors also had items lifted from their vehicles. This is the first time I've ever had anything stolen and I have lived in all sorts of places both urban and rural. If I catch these punks........

Peter I do a lot of Ebay surfin' for knives so I'll keep my eyes open, it sucks when this kinda stuff happens, livin' in the country you kinda get spoiled, I leave my car unlocked all the time at home, and at any given moment between the gps, minidisc recorder, digital camera, knives, and tools there's sometimes over a couple of grand in the car.

Peter,
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. I'll pray for the speedy and complete return of your stolen property. I also hope the thief gets caught and gets to spend a few years in the big house fearing he'll drop the soap in the shower. I just cannot tolerate a thief.

All the best,
Mike U.

I'll copy this thread to TGB&U. I hope the thief tries to sell the knives to one of our members -- preferably an off-duty cop.

That f'n sucks! Do you think it's someone you know? Sounds to me they knew you had alot of knives in your car. Could be some ******* knife nut...but think on the bright side, it could be just a scumbag who doesn't realize what they have and try to sell it. Did you think of calling any pawn shops?

Leverett's out in Western Ma...I'm from Greater Boston and it's either a small town punk or someone who knows you.

Sorry to hear about the loss of you stuff. I'll keep an eye out online as well. It looks like you have some pretty distinctive stuff, so if something like it turns up, I bet it's yours. Is that the actual pic of you light? I only ask because I have never seen anything like it, and I have seen a few taclites, but nothing like that. Hope you get it all back.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. My tool shed was broken into last year. It is very upsetting to have these things happen, even beyond the monetary value of the items taken. The real shame is the theif most likely has no idea what he has stolen and will, sell them for nothing or if it's a kid get scared and ditch them. None the less I wish you luck in recovering them.

Check any pawnhops near you also was there any of your friends "friends" their while showing off your work??Ive seen that happen more than once..Sorry to hear bout your loss....:(

Thanks guys! I'm keeping positive but I know that it is a longshot that I will have my stuff returned. There were quite a few vehicles broken into Wednesday night and at least 4 people I know were hit. My buddy Jim lives a couple miles away and the thieves stole electronic equipment from his truck and his wife's car and also went into his garage and stole a couple thousand dollars worth of tools. One of the girls who lives next door got her Sony CD Walkman lifted also. Bastards! :grumpy:

I'm going to call all the pawnshops in the area today. I have a list of about 50. It's possible some of this stuff may turn up.

Alpha, the lithium powered LED flashlight is a one of a kind handmade prototype called the Cachelight that Jim and I are thinking of producing. The tailcap comes apart to reveal a secret stash compartment.
