everything will work out in time mr siegle is a great guy to deal with

You're handling it better than I would. Best of luck, hope everything works out for ya.

Well that SUCKS, hope everything works out. hate to hear things like that. Good luck, hope they find the a** that did it and give some colon surgery with it.

How about a few details as to how this theft came about.

it was in transit care of the us postal service and somewere along the way someone opened the box and took it as far as i know

Good luck with the knife, but in the future you might try FedEx or UPS. I've had bad experiences with the US postal service, they beat the s@(* out of packages.

Ive had bad luck with USPS also, even with clothing that you order.
No offense to anyone that may work for them because im sure there are alot of decent employees also. :)

Did you have insurance on it? That is a one of a kind knife, I concur check on E-Bay. Also did you check with the Postal Inspector? :(

Always get insurance on packages.

I send laptops using USPS, they get all scared when I take out $1,000 of insurance... they reseal the box, stamp "fragile" a hundred times, and turn it over to make sure the box is sound. So basically, different service when you insure.

That sucks. Definitely keep an eye on ebay. Since the blade bears Mr. Siegle's mark, the thief will probably add the maker's name to the title/description, making it easier for you to find it.

You take your chances whatever shipper you choose. I've had knives stolen by the Postal Service, building materials mystereously go missing at a UPS sorting facility, and absolutely terrible experiences with FedEx.

Sorry for your loss.

Fortunately, the USPS Postal Inspectors are pretty tenacious. Unlike certain other ships in the shipping business who are content to just write employee theft off as part of the cost of doing business, the USPS realized that it's a crime and also realizes that this reflects poorly on all USPS employees. So, I'm sure that every effort will be made to recover your property. But, it's also good that you got it out here. Hopefully, we can make it difficult for the thief to sell his ill-gotten gains.
