I would like to let everyone know about a knife that was stolen. It was being sent from Canada. Someone opened the package took out the knife and replaced it with a cheap used factory knife.
The knife is a handmade single blade lockback, it's a remington 1306 pattern, it has elephant ivory scales. What makes it unusual is it has a bullit shield on both sides of the knife. It also has a thong hole.
I'm the maker, my name is Joel Chamblin.
I don't expect to see it again but I just want to make it difficult for the low life to be able to sell it.
I have a web site with contact info if anyone should happen to see this knife, my web sit is chamblinknives.com
Thanks.

Sorry to hear about it my friend, I will keep ears alert and eyes open. hopefully your customer understands and doesn't hold any hard feelings against you.

Man, what a bummer. I wonder why they replaced it with a knife? You would think if they were heartless and evil enough to steal it in the first place, then they would just trash the package and keep the knife.

Joel,

Just sent you an email.

If you have a picture send it to me and I will post it.

It always upsets me when I hear of stolen work, even more so when it is stolen from a friend.

they put another knife back, thatz kinda odd,sorry...................:(

I was looking at a Buck 112 folder years ago at Walmart, and I asked the clerk to take a couple more of them off the shelf so I could inspect the handle scales and blade edges to find one that suited me. One of the boxes the clerk put on the counter had a VERY USED & BEAT UP old Buck 112 in it, with about 1/2" of the tip broken off. Someone had obviously pulled a switcheroo when the clerk wasn't watching, and pocketed the brand new one. It does seem odd, but then maybe it's more common than I'd thought...

I'm sorry to hear about the stolen knife. I hope all turns out well for you in this matter.

Best of luck to you...

Don't worry, who ever stole that knife will have it stolen form them. What goes around comes around. It had Ivory scales. Maybe karma played a part since some soulless poacher stolen the tusks for an endangered species to provide that ivory.

Customs, perhaps?

I have no problem seeing a bored inspector getting knives back in the wrong boxes. I also have no problem seeing a crooked inspector swapping the knife in his pocket for a better one.

At any rate, the place where packages are routinely opened and reclosed is the most likely place for the substitution to have taken place.

Not all ivory is poached.....

I hope your knife is found, and hopefully you have some good pictures.
