As some of you know i make decorative native american inspired tomahawks for my etsy shop. Im starting to now create beautiful and rugged survival tomahawks that are meant for use.

Here are 2 of my new tomahawks. These are perfect for the camper, hiker, survivalist, and self defense. They are made to last! One handle is hard maple, the other is ash. Both are protected, both are wrapped in 550 paracord that has been post shrunk which makes them grip and tighten around the handle more then humanly possible. They are also both secured with JB Weld bonding the stone blade with the wood.

Any questions please ask, and enjoy!

They're beautiful and skillfully done. But I don't think it is accurate to describe them as a 'survival tool'. In a survival situation you would much rather have a steel tool than a stone tool. That said, I'd love to have one on my shelf if I collected that sort of thing.

Please get a paid membership so you can start selling these. Nice work.

Thank you fellas! I actually do sell these im just not allowed to post my shop link on this forum, just (( don't post instructions to find the link ))

I have thought about setting up a dealer account here but im not big enough yet to see myself paying the fees associated with it.

Possibly in the future though!

Im making another one today!

Yesterday I got the handle ready, treated and coated in spar urethane. I also got the blade in place and secured with JB Weld. Today I will be adding the paracord wraps!

You should make some with leather thongs and stuff instead of paracord. If I were buying one it would be for display, and an authentic look would make it much more appealing.
Leather and sinew are rather tough as well, so no worries there.

I have about 15 made tat are "native american inspired" with suede leather sjnew beads feathers fur you name it.

If you look at the logo I made for my shop it has a tomahawk between the words "handcrafted tomahawks" that's one of the tomahawks I made that is native inspired, that ones sold now but I thought it made. Bad ass logo!

I've been looking at your work for a few days now, and it's clear you have the knack for knapping (alliteration makes me giggle). Anyway, I think most people would avoid stone tools in general, except for the sake of novelty and uniqueness.

Looking at these and your other photos, you have left the edge thick enough that it shouldn't be too fragile. Even so, it's still obviously not as durable as steel.

I think that a video of one of these hawks in use would really show people that they are a viable tool (if indeed they are) in the wilderness today.

Still, I am tempted. They look amazing.

Thank you scouter, i am planning on making a few videos and creating a youtube account in the next few days to show the hawks in use. The weather is finally turning around here in wisconsin!

and i never really considered making a tomahawk for use but i felt the need to try something different and i made a few of these hawks for use. I have alot of the decorative native american inspired tomahawks but i needed something different in my shop!
