Stone choices for the Edge Pro

So I am set on buying an EPA, have been for a while. After lots of research I have come to understand there are a lot different stone choices. I have been told the Shapton stones are excellent but they are far out of my price range. I was wondering if the Chosera stones are worth the extra money over the stock stones. I am looking to be able to put on pretty good mirror polishes on my edges and I want to know if the 400, 1000, and 5000 that come with the kit from CKTG will accomplish that. Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Not the best picture... but I did this edge with the stock EP stones thru the 1000 (or 1200 can't remember and the print is worn off) stones:

The EP stones tend to polish finer than their rating... if you go to this page, you'll see a comparison:

Edge Pro vs. Shapton stones

I have a Chosera set that I got from a guy on the auction site, it included a 400, 600, 1k, 3k, 5k, and 10k for $200. The Choseras are incredible compared to the stock stones, the cut in a fraction of the time, begin to polish earlier, all while lasting a whole lot longer. I mainly only go up to 3k or 5k and with strops/diamond spray, achieve a pretty good mirror finish. I think you'll be fine with the 3 grits mentioned, wouldn't hurt to also pick up one of their strops. I have the balsa, nano cloth, and kangaroo and they all help refine the edge that much more. You can achieve a mirror edge with the EPA stock stones and polishing tapes, but I find the tapes to be a pain.

I generally use stock EAP stones: 400, 1000, then 3000 polish tapes on a glass bed with really good mirror results. I have a 220 if needed as well.

Yeah I did some more reading and video watching and they seem to be the way to go. I am pretty excited to put the order in soon.

Another Chosera user here with the Edge Pro. I have the 400, 1K, 3K, 5K, and 10K. They are absolutely better than the stock stones, but it should be noted that the stock Edge Pro stones are still very good stones. It's just that the Chosera stones are top shelf. They cut much faster, and the 5K/10K combo leaves a beautiful mirror finish.

Thanks for the input, thinking I have to get it now.
