I have read the FAQ for straight razors, and was wondering. Does anyone know if it is ok to use (fine) diamond stones for honing, or should I stick to Belgian Oil stones. Where does someone find these Belgian stones?

I appreciate any replies, I bought a DOVO Bismarck, and now I understand scary sharp. I have an old Anchor Brand straight razor that needs a lot of work, and am anxious to get to it.

Thanks!

Have you considered the Ultra Fine Spyderco Benchstone? It is reportedly a match for the finest water stones.

My limited experience with mine, shows it puts a show grade finish that is almost to frightning to toutch.

I hear many people recommend it for straight razors.
