Hi all,

Following up one of the previous posts on arrowheads I have done a quick scan of some of the things I have picked up over the years.

The image can be found here:
Stone knife

Apart from the Genesis thrown in for scale.

L - R

Knife blade, blue granite. Near Mt. Isa, Queensland, Aust.

Spear points:

Long Plain, SW of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

West of Alice Springs, Northern Territory

Cobar, Central New South Wales. Note on this head, the point is to the top of the image and the indentation of the point hitting something hard is quite clear

In Three Forks Montana, when I was just a wee lad ( around 7) the local jailer had some very interesting items.

He was an older gentleman about 70 and took care of the jail and the small museum that was there. They had the skull and thigh bones of the last man hung there, some years before.
You sure wouldn't see that now!!

What was really interesting was that Mr.McKensie was an old cowboy and rock hound and general local historian. He had found a skull some years before with an arrowhead still embeded in it.He had many old stone knives and points as well as some old rusty guns and steel knives that he had picked up in the hills.I wish I could still remember all the stories he told us kids when he had the time.

He was probably one reason I never got into to much trouble. He wouldn't let any kids in the back office or jail when they had any prisoners, but if the jail was empty he would take you back there so you could see it.
It was a small steel cage big enough to hold maybe 8 people. It was in the middle of a very large high ceilinged room. There were no toilet facilities in it either.I don't know what the prisoners done.I am sure I probab;ly asked him,but that is one of the things I can't remember.

Of all he things I miss,I miss my mind the most.hehehehe.
