First is it possible to change a stone washed blade to a satin finish or mirror polished. If so does anyone know of a maker or modifier that would convert a stone washed blade to either a satin finish or mirror polished finish.

Use sandpaper and scotch-brite. For a mirror finish countinue to a high number on the wet dry sandpaper untill you get the finish you want. Buffing at the end helps using polishing rouge.

Polishing rouge? What brand and where, also can I apply using soft applicator and dremel tool?

Thanks

There are a few things to bring up the luster. Some blade material will get a higher luster then others. I find 440 SS will polish up easier then something like S30V.
Rouge would be used on a buffing wheel or your dremel with a cotton bob would also work. The buffing compound can be purchased at Lowe's, Home Depot, Harbor Freight or on line.
Semi-chrome or Fitz are a very fine polishing paste you can use on a cloth, or your dremel cotton bob when you are at the end of your buffing.
Use the emory (sand paper for metal) and increase the paper number till you remove the scratches from the the lower number paper. Don't start out with too coarse a paper if you don't have any scratches to remove or you will end up putting scratches in the metal. Sometimes the stonewash finish is put on a blade so buffing doesn't have to be done and it also will not show the scratches that you will get with a high luster finish. Remember the mirror finish will show scratches quickly. Good luck with this project.

I wouldnt recommend using a dremel on any blade. The speed is too high and the contact surface too small.Stonewash beats out any other finish and is the most difficult to aquire IMO.Why not be happy?

Stone wash is worst for rust while satin finish and mirror polished will provide some extra rust resistance. My knives hang around lots of water, fresh, brackish and salt and always in a high humidity so any advantage I can get I'll take.

In my experiences, stonewashed blades do not rust easily. Are you perhaps thinking of bead blast?

Yah, I'm pretty sure he's referring to bead blast, as bead blasting opens the pores in the meat making it more susceptible to rust. Kinda like tenderizing :p.
Mirror finish closes them so water beads off.
