anypork know how makers put a "tumbled" or "stonewashed" finish on a satin blade? what's the process?

.

I heard that if you shoot it repeatedly with a .22 it gives it a nice finish, similar to what you describe.

CRK tumbles there blades with ceramic making thousands of tiny scrathches on the blade

I would imagine either tumbling or vibration would work. The question is what ceramic media shape/size CRK uses.

If you have a vibratory case tumbler you could try some ceramic media on test pieces and see what you get.

true, i have a small rcbs vibrator but it would be to small for a mid sized busse. if they are tumbled a guy could use a small cement mixer with media.

If you crank a Busse in a cement mixer, I want to see pics.

i will do it if thats the way, i was thinking of fine pea gravel. if ceramic is used we would have to fine out the sieve or grit that they use.

just throw it in the clothes dryer with your underwear. are you wearing your infi boxers?

Both tumblers and vibrators are used. There are different medias used depending on the desired finish and the type of material you are adding the finish to. A few months ago, I could have gotten you some ceramic media from Boeing surplus cheap, but the surplus store is now closed

for those who know, thanks for the input, for the rest of you jokers go have another drink. aren't you guys EVER SERIOUS?

.

Ok, I'll try to be serious.

Have you tried dragging it through the sand and gravel of your favorite fishing hole? Perhaps you can just use it as a sinker while drift fishing for SteelHead or Salmon. Kill 2 birds with one stone :p:D

I think the blade is put in a tub with media much like you would use for brass rifle cartidges. I'm not sure what they use, but you may have heard of this thing called the internet. Surely lots of info out there.:p
