Hi all,
I found my beater Leek that I had to have bought at least 10 years ago in an old couch lol so I decided to try my hand at the Peanut butter jar stone washing that I have seen so much of lately on the boards..I really like the look of it, so easy to do..Jif plastic jar a handful of rocks, some broken safety glass, and a couple squirts of WD40..after it came out I did some acid washing to darken it up a little..what do you think? Still needs a good sharpening of course..
Best, Steve

Looks very nice. I'm surprised that the serrations weren't rounded out completely. Did you disassemble it and then reassemble it or wash it with the blade locked open?

oregonknifenerd, I took it apart completely, very easy to do, youtube is amazing! I washed the blade with the clip in one run, and then the 2 scales together..2 shot, a couple quarter size rocks, 10-12 dime sized and a handful of broken safety glass..I was also amazed that the edge wasnt worse than it was..I'm wondering if I sent it back to Kershaw if they would touch it?

That looks great. I'll have to try that for some satin titanium bolsters that I have.

I just wondered. I've taken apart several Kershaws and find the Leek to be one of the easier ones to get apart and back together. I'd ask about where you got a handful of broken safety glass, but I'm not sure I want to know! :D

You can always call and ask for Cheryl to see if they'll do it.
