Stone Washing Black Pocket Clips

I recently bought a Spyderco Delica 4 FRN, and upon inspection of my new purchase i found a horribly out of place black painted clip. The clip itself is nice, but it looks silly on such a colourful knife, and with time it will mark and scratch and drive me insane.

So i was wondering, what is the best way to deal with this ( Apart from taking it off altogether )?
I would love to stone wash it, but im afraid it will look rough and abused instead of good-looking. I was also considering taking off the coating all together.
Any tips or advice then?

Thanks.

I have no experience with Spyderco pocket clips but if would take a stab at it I would completely remove the paint, force a patina and then stonewash. For whatever reason, most here (myself inclided) seem to prefer all scratched up over chipped...go figure :)

If I remember correctly under the Delica and Endura paint its beadblasted. The paint is pretty easy to get off then just put clip in a jar with some rocks and a splash of water and shake away. That's what I did.

If you have a buffing wheel, just buff it off. No sanding or anything. Leaves it nice and shiny. I do like the beadblasted look too.
