im wondering how much radiusing will occur if i place hardened s90v in a large tumbler with a triangular ceramic media for 2 hours. i ask this because i set my detent ball path very close to the edge of my choils and am concerned that over wear or "rounding" of the choil area will result in an uneven detent ball travel. oh and the hrc of the blade is 61.

a very involved question i know, but i need to know none the less.....

If it's a standard vibratory "reloading" tumbler, it probably won't radius it too much. S90V is pretty wear resistant.

I accidentally left a 440C blade (Around 58HRC IIRC) in my tumbler for 8 hours. The tip was rounded, but the blade was otherwise OK.

I'd try leaving it in for an hour and see what happens.
 
not much will happen, I've left cpm154cm in a vibratory tumbler over night and it only took the sharpenn off the corners.
