Stone washing

If I am stone washing a Seb 25 handle how do I protect the ceramic lock/detente ball or do I not have to worry about it.

I worried about this too when blasting the scales. I'd cover it with hot glue. Ceramic is super hard and can chip. I'm not sure how prone to this the CRK ceramic is though.
