I have a sharpmaker and Japanese water stones that I have used to sharpen my knives before but the limitations and drawbacks have led me to buy a ruixin pro 3 sharpener (full metal constructed edge pro clone) which I will heavily modify and get aftermarket stones for, in hopes of building the ultimate sharpening setup for my needs that will be much cheaper then a name brand system and will also be much better. So far I have gathered that the shapton pro, shapton glass, and chosera stones are the best you can get in the 1x6 edge pro format, unfortunately I don't like the idea of having to wet and lap all these types of stones since the wicked edge and kme can be used dry and with less maintenance. Ideally I would like water free diamond plates in the lower course grits for reprofiling blades and ceramic plates similar to that used in the sharpmaker for general sharpening and touch up. Does this make sense or will the waterstones produce a finer result? Can anyone recommend some diamond and ceramic stones in the 1x6 edge pro format? Do they even have to be exactly 1x6 or can I just get some benchstones or pocketstones that are lets say 2x6 or 1x5 and just mount them on an edge pro blank plate?

I use the 140 grit diamond stone made for the edge pro from Chefknivestogo for reprofiling. Quite happy with it. I've successfully used a spyderco doublestuff for finishing on my ruixin. Its only 5 inches though so I had to add a spacer in front of the handle knob to make it work (i just used the cap from an old highliter marker with the end cut off). Tbh though i actually prefer a cheap Chinese made edge pro stone i have to the spyderco ceramic for finishing because its less hassle and gives good edges, its some white and green natural stone, id guess jade maybe? But I'm probably not the best for advice on finishing stones for the jig because I mainly just use it for reprofiling then move to freehand.

ordered a set of ruixin diamond stones so ill have those to try out for the lower grits, do you just go straight from 140 grit diamond to the spyderco doublestuff? Does the double stuff produce a good edge, and do you just put it straight into the mount without the aluminum blank? Im really just going for a sharpmaker like functionality but without human error and the ability to reprofile an edge with the rough diamond stones

i have no experience with ruixin diamond stones, but i do have experience with taidea and exduct diamond stones for guided sharpening. if you have other questions regarding ruixin, i believe i "reviewed" it 2 years ago. so i prefer to answer questions there, sorry.
