I am planning on getting a 440c stonewash finish tiger claw from Hideaway Knives. I have been told that stone wash is a random scratch pattern on the blade, but in all of the pics that I see, I just looks like a plain foggy grey. My question is, is stone wash a plane foggy grey or is it a scratch pattern with independent scratches? Also, if it is a plain foggy grey, can I somehow polish it to a realitivly shiny finish? Thanks for and input.

the ones that I´ve seen come through my shop have a couple of different finishes. I think it depends on how finely they were surface ground. The ones that were finely surface ground and then vibe tumbled with stones have the foggy grey

The ones that have a little rougher surface ground finish and then vibe tumbled have a little more of a scratch pattern

It always seemed to be pretty random, depending on which batch came through
