Is it just my imagination or has AB changed the description of the iMamba and Rinkhals to Stonewashed? I think maybe they switched over to stonewashed blades as standard instead of the polished. Maybe I haven’t noticed that in the description but I think it is new on their webpage.

I wonder how shiny the stonewash is and how the process of applying that finish differs. While the polish is a pain to keep shiny and try to avoid scratches, it is something that makes the knife really special and elevates it over a lot of others.

I have no idea, haven’t seen one with the new finish. I have a Rinkhals being made with the old nail nick blade and the stonewash finish. We will see when it shows up. It will probably be at least another month.

TBH the scratches are sort of hard to see, the knife will have to be put through a lot of use before it the shine is no longer visible.

The stonewash is actually pretty aggressive in my sample. It is more so than say a Chris Reeve. I’ll post a pic but I don’t know how obvious it will be. IMG_0207.jpeg

In the flesh - do you like it over the polished blades?
It gives it a totally different vibe. Makes it feel kinda like a knife you can really use. I don’t know how to explain it but I actually like both in different ways. The stonewash will definitely hide some scratches in its current form.

Cool. Thanks
