Has anyone stonewashed their cerakoted blade? I have a cerakoted blade incoming and would like to stonewash the black cerakoted blade. I don't know if it's doable or been done before....can anyone help? Pics would be great....

I have never tried it, but I imagine you would run the risk of having the cerakote chip and crack off of the blade instead of smoothing out like you might want it to.

I know that some makers have stonewashed DLC with good luck, like Matt Diskin, and more recently some of the production companies as well, but I don't think cerakote would hold up nearly as well to it since it is not really bonded to the steel, but simply baked onto the surface.

Yeah, that's kinda what I am worried about too, just chipping off instead of giving the cool mottled pattern I am looking for when you stonewash DLC.......

I'm pretty sure that will be what happens. I have seen some cerakote finishes that have been done in a very smooth finish from the maker, and I have been more than thrilled with them in performance, so I would just stick to something like that if you're just looking for a smoother finish.
If the look is what you're going for, I don't think cerakote is a good coating to try it on, at least not personally.

DLC and cerakote are way different. DLC sticks to the blade really well, the cerakote sits on the surface it can and does chip away. DLC will show wear, but it is usually from whatever you are cutting leaving remnants on the blade.

I don't imagine that would look good at all, it would probably come off in chunks and look terrible. As mentioned above, some makers have stonewashed DLC, Kershaw/ZT in particular do this and call it their "blackwash" finish. But as also mentioned, DLC is extremely durable and is virtually impossible to totally remove once applied to a metal. For example, DLC coatings are used in the cambers of AR type rifles where each time the rifle is fired the coating is directly exposed to roughly 55000 PSI of pressure. Cerakote, while a good product, is still just a glorified paint.

Cerakote won't chip, but it will wear. I have been playing around w/ this but have found that it wears the corners first and won't do it even all over. I think there is a way to do it but I haven't figured it out yet. Here is the closest I have gotten so far:

This is what it looked like if I had stopped here instead of continuing to tumble in hopes of getting it perfect:
