I read some rumblings of a stonewashed CQC-8, are they available anywhere or was it a limited run or something totally different?

All new model Emersons will have the new stonewashed finish. The newer models also have a swedge. Unfortunately it seems they are only releasing the newer models as the stock of the older ones are depleted. So its pretty difficult finding the newer ones. Difficult, but not impossible. The new black models will also have a swedge.

Any decent pictures of them? Emerson's site doesn't have any and the ones I see on Google are all tiny. I can't decide if I want to go for a stonewashed blade or a coated one.

I dont have a shot of the stonewashed 8 handy but here is one of a CQC-13. I would totally recommend the stonewashed finish over the coated. Its actually stonewashed on the flats and satin finished everywhere else and its very nicely done.

If you want shots of the stonewashed 8 you will probably have better luck posting in the Emerson forum.

That's a sweet looking 13 you have there. Do you like it?

That is interesting. Some of my friends cannot find any Emersons (CQC7, 8, 14, etc) in stock at the usual places [The large auction site is not an option]. The stock at these places have been zero for months now, unles they all sell out the same day of course. You'd think that they would be releasing them on a more consistent basis.

There are two places that are known to consistently have stock of Emersons, including the new stonewashed models. PM me if you want the details.

I do indeed, the finish is very nicely done and the swedge really adds a neat touch to the whole package. I had one of the old style 13s and its a great folder if you're a fan of the bowie which I am.

Once again, different knife, but with the new finish. My Mini Commander:

Hmm, the stonewashed finished does look nice. Maybe I'll try for one of them over the coated versions.

Thanks, I may head over to the Emerson forums to ask as well.
