Very nice! How did you go sbout doing that?If you don't mind me asking.

I put the blade and clip into a rock tumbler with some ceramic media (lightly abrasive ceramic stones), pumice hand cleaner, Flitz polish and a little bit of oil for about 3 hours, and then I used some 2000 grit sandpaper to polish the spine.

How's the lockup? I'd be worried about the tang area.

The lock up is solid and was in a nearly identical place after the stonewashing. It did have to be broken in again, as the finish did scuff up the locking area. If you think about it some knives have this finish from the factory and the same process applies. The edge was completely killed. Gone.

Fascinating. I have a brass tumbler for reloading, do you think I'd be able to use that? Where do you buy the ceramic media or can i just use broken mugs? :D I know the ceramic media victorinox uses is cone shaped; is it the same kind? This looks fantastic and I'd love to do this to some blades.

Hello,

I purchased the ceramic media off of a fellow bladeforums member. I dont think I would use just any old ceramic chunks. The media I have is a light blue color and is a triangle on both top and bottom, but the triangles aren't aligned vertically. It would be very hard to explain, but maybe you get the idea.
