I'm the flip side of The Deacon. A user just looks better with a sw blade finish than a marr that may take years to blend in on a satin, machined finished blade. Personally, I don't equate a sw finish with a cheap look but that is certainly a matter of taste.
The analogy I like to use is a high end stainless steel sink. They look awesome unused, then they look sort of used and abused when they get their first scratches but then years later, they start to look good once again from the natural stone washing they get from all use scratches and as the scratches even out and blend all over.
To me, a sw blade finish takes you to that last stage right off the bat.
