STONEWASHED TEAM GEMINI?!?! What say you, Boss?

I'm drinking and thinking, dreaming about how sweet it would be to release a small run of TGULB's with Stonewashed finish. This has quickly become my favorite finish on a hard use knife, so many things to love. First, Florida sun is a nasty thing and there's little that's as annoying as the reflections we get bombarded with off auto glass, shiny metal, etc. Stonewashed does an amazing job of cutting down on the glare to a managable level, to the point where all my yard knives are going to be stonewashed from here forward. Secondly, it hides scratches like nothing I've seen before.

I used to love the nice shiny satin finish but once you start using it they turn ugly as sin. Fun story, many years ago I met a good friend on BF and traded him KDSH for Basic 6 LE that he had. I got the B6LE and was shocked to see there was literally nothing left of the satin finish. I've still not seen anything like it to this day, I was stupified trying to imagine how he managed to bring the level of finish to about 5-10% of ideal to where you couldn't tell it was finished. I wish I still had that knife, reminds me a bit of stonewashing without the acid part to darken the steel. At some point, I started to get into Double Cut for the lower reflectiveness and hiding the scratches a bit better. These tend to rust, even in INFI and always kept them oiled. Still like DC on certain blades though, the small ones.

Enter Stonewash, what can be more perfect than the complete and utter chaos of a 100% nondirectional scratch pattern. It reminds me of nature, just enough order to keep the whole thing from caving in on itself. It's only when we pesky humans get involved and try to bring 'order' to nature does the whole thing come crashing down. Enter Busse Industrial Grade Satin. ah.... like industrial art to me... same thing with all flavors of Competition Finish... love the patterns the machines leave behind but those pesky buggers can have some high spots on the tooling which can be a bit rough and did I mention reflections? Still pretty shiny, sigh. Easily scratched, for sure, but less of a loss than scratching a perfect satin especially with the Competition Finish.

So, for those of you who have made it this far reading my thoughts... I thank you. Jerry Busse Jerry Busse How can this not be a thing yet? I mean Team Gemini is probably the most iconic Busse to date and we've not been able to order w/ Stonewashed despite having been around on Scrap Yards for many months now. I hope this doesn't come across as whining, certainly not my intent here... just a thought that had nowhere else to be shared but here. :)

How about a stonewashed TGULB Crusader? 😅
I'd take it in DLC also, just sayin' 😉👍👍

And, yet, none of those happen to be stonewashed... :)

Good luck finding probably AT LEAST half of those variants secondhand these days at reasonable prices. That's another matter, however.

DLC does sound nice also, would definitely like some of that.

Please no, for God’s sake! I need another TG like I need another hole in my head. But if Jerry builds it, I will buy it. Almost guaranteed. More so if it is a TG Crusader!
