Stonewashing question

I have a Spyderco Manix 2 that I'd like to etch and stonewash, but it has a couple little hairline scratches from when i was terrible at sharpening. Most of the guides I see say something about sanding it down to 320 grit, but is that more for knifemakers who are actually making blades? Will these little scratches show up worse in the etch?

I know it seems weird asking about scratches when I'm effectively going to be scratching the entire blade, but I want the stonewash to look uniform and these scratches are perfect straight lines.

I would think that a good stonewash should hide those scratches pretty well, especially if they are the kind of scratches that go away a little bit depending on the angle you are looking at them
