ive got a bunch of blades in s90v heat treated. i havent decarbed them yet. here is the question, what are the options and recomendations you guys have for prep before stonewashing? any pics would be helpful. the tumbler is a monster 120 gallon vibrating tumbler with triangular ceramic media.

- can i just toss the in and not even decarb?
-should i blast them first?

note. they were hand rubbed to 240 grit pre ht and the flats to 400 grit.

thanks guys!

Its all about consistency in getting the best finish. I bead blast or sand then tumble until you get the finish you want. If entire surface is not consistent to begin with then the end result can be disappointing.

Since the blades are heat treated it can take quite awhile in the tumbler to get a nice stone wash finish

Should i still mask the bushing and pivot area when i blast? Or is that unnessesary?
