As you saw in an other thread you can find here: http://www.progressivefunds.com/hci/ the list of companies that support HCI now The Brady Campaign. In that list you will see the name of:
Franklin Mint: http://franklinmint.com/tfmweb/corporate/homepage.asp?orsr_url_addr=LS--uFgFAAAAAABUtyh0AQE=
Swiss Army Depot : http://www.swissarmydepot.com/swiss.cfm?dir=home&page=home
Those 2 compagnies sell knives. I think we must send them some mail to tell them what we think about there support of HCI.
Also I think I saw before some Franklin Mint adds in Blades Magazine and in some guns magazine. If this is accurate we must tell those magazines to stop to do business with people who support our enemy or we will stop buying those magazines.

That's pretty hypocritical of them to sell firearms and yet support the Brady crap. I definitely won't support a company that supports gun control.

Nobody with half a brain would buy anything made by the Franklin Mint anyway. Their stuff is about as cheesy as can be.

Please...

that knife is generously layered in REAL 14K gold. And it that's a genuine imitation ruby there. Look! you can see Jesus, Elvis, and a cute puppy hand-painted on the blade! Each one is individually serial numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. That's important because you know there's a lot of counterfeiting that goes on out there in this type of knife.

And, if you place your order now, you'll also receive the beautiful genuine, crystal-clear Lucite display case with the impressive picture-of-wood base and luxurious velvetine padding for only $39 more.

Better hurry because the edition is strictly limited to only 300 production days. After that, this knife will never be made again. Experts believe that this knife might appreciate substantially in the coming years.

Operators are standing by... Offer ends soon... Special terms and conditions apply... Due to overwhelming demand, we reserve the right to limit purchases... Not sold in stores (and when you get yours, you'll know why).

Several years ago, I visited the wearhouses of a giant surplus dealer, Surplus Sales of Nebraska. I can't remember exactly, bit I think it was three or four cavernous wearhouses just filled with all sorts of stuff that either hadn't sold as well as its manufacturer had hoped, or that had outlived its usefulness. As we walked through one of these buildings toward our goal, I noticed a huge bin full of Franklin Mint knives, folders about 4" long overall, each with a cheesy medalion set into the red plastic handle showing a fire engine. There were like fifteen or twenty different engines in the set. Dull as butter knives. There must have been five thousand or more of those things sitting there. Apparently, they hadn't sold as well as expected. Price new? I don't know, but my guess is just under a hundred dollars each. Surplus price, $5/each with discounts for quantities. Makes you feel sad for all of the "collectors" out there who paid the full retail price to collect that whole set.

I have had an Amex account for a long while. I just closed it.

Before everyone hops on the band wagon, has anyone validated that the claim made on this website is true? I mean, anyone can put up a page that says "Shop with these guys and you can contribute to this organization."

There's a detailed discussion of this over at www.thefiringline.com I think several threads have been consolidated in the politics forum. In any event, several people claim that the HCI link to Dell is apparently some sort of "affiliates" program that any organization, including pro-gun or completely gun-neutral groups, can set up. Several people (who seem to be better informed about these programs than I) say that there is not a specific deal between HCI and Dell. However, I do not yet personally know whether that is true---I'm just relating what I read at thefiringline. If it is true, then the NRA should have such an affiliates program (if it doesn't already exist). That would presumably permit pro-gun people to buy Dell products and generate a contribution to NRA.

Better hurry because the edition is strictly limited to only 300 production days.

Gollnick,

That means those poor oppressed workers are working almost every weekend to supply our nasty capitlistic habits! Someone should be informed! Legislation should be passed! :)

I was surprised to even SEE Franklin Mint at the Blade Show. I thought it was some sort of joke or something. Oh yeah, who needs Spyderco's, Benchmades, William Henrys, Chris Reeve Knives when you can have a cool as hell, gaudy Franklin Mint knife! I wouldn't worry about them. They sell a different grade of knives than what we all like.
